My absolute favorite!!! I hope everything good in the world happens to the two of you!! From your research to your banter.... I couldn't ask for a better show!!! Please do not change a thing and continue to rock on. Thank you from the bottom to the tippy-tip of my heart..Scott
I've enjoyed several episodes so far. It smells a bit like 'Stuff you should know' but it's still something different. But also here I like the chemistry between the hosts.
I've learned a ton about the back-stories of all of these stories I took at face-value when they happened. It's made me realize our society has been so much more cruel and stupid than I had appreciated.
I couldn't get into this one. I get the appeal, and it does have it's merits. The topics are interesting, there's opportunity to learn a lot about a subject, and it makes you face some hard truths that maybe you've never thought of before. I didn't like the hosts though, their voices are kind of annoying, and they don't have the best rapport. Sometimes their research felt like they just talked to someone who agreed with the narrative they wanted instead of actually finding the answer and presenting more than one side. Other times it didn't feel any deeper than a Wiki page.
Funny, informative and interesting - the podcast which got me into podcasts. Like them. They're popular for a reason. Sometimes I feel like they get sucked into logic paradoxes where their own morality is contrasting and doesn't make much sense - ie. people who can't take care of plants are selfish (maybe they're just forgetful? why do we care? neurodiversities are a thing). political correctness = always people avoiding consequences (maybe they're being cancelled for something they never did? or it was misunderstood?). Overall usually a good time. But I recommend keeping your critical thinking cap on. <3
Great potential. Interesting subjects. Not always very well researched, with alot of 15 year old girl type commentary, like, oh my god, they are so dumb..why didn't they do that... which is annoying, and superfluous. Needs to be edited. I had to stop listening to the OJ Simpson story. The hosts are so immature and disrespectful in their retelling of events. They are laughing and making jokes when talking about the murder scene, specifically was REALLY off putting. The families and the children of Oj and Nicole are still alive. And Ron. It is doubtful they would be listening to this, but you are talking about 2 people who were brutally murdered. Although this may seem like ancient history for the hosts, many people are still alive who remember the actual horror and correct details of this event. Including how the news, and entertainment sources made tons of money flogging and sensationalising this tragedy to death ,and for their own benefit. Almost 30 years later that aspect of this event has not changed. Please get an editor, and please be more mindful of the message you are conveying.
Mike and Sarah never fail to be hilarious and informative!
It turns out, we don't always get the full story. You're Wrong About takes stories that we think we know about from bygone eras, and find new perspectives that often radically change the narrative. From the maligned women of the 90s, like Anna Nicole Smith and Monica Lewinski, to controversial stories like Ebonics and Terry Schiavo, to big-news crimes, like the DC Snipers and OJ Simpson, Mike and Sarah break down the background, show why we heard what we heard, then show us a new way to understand these stories, all with a deft, respectful touch and a light touch of humour. It's well worth your listen.
You're Wrong About is a great way to contextualize (or maybe REcontextualize in some cases) events that happened in recent history that I either didn't care about at the time due to age, or didn't fully understand. Sarah examines topics with sensitivity, and Mike always has hard data in hand to support the evidence. One of my favourite podcasts, for sure.
This is the podcast that got me into podcasts. I have learned so much from Sarah and Michael and am so glad to have found it. They offer such fresh perspectives on worn stories and are an absolute delight to listen to.
Mike and Sarah are obsessed with factual evidence and accurate reporting. They approach topics with empathy and a sense of dark, cynical humour that suits the topics at hand. I've listened to several of these episodes over and over again and always find them enjoyable.
This podcast doesn't do it for me. The episodes lack direction; it's just one person who's educated on the topic rambling on their opinion for an hour. Sarah's clever quips and basic questions would be grade A contributions if this was a dinner party conversation, but from a planned podcast I'd expect the host to be a little better about helping the conversation to be coherent. The presented narrative often feels one-sided; for a podcast that's all about presenting a new point of view, it comes off as 1-2 people soapboxing based on their opinions and political views (and I consider myself a leftist). It gets two stars because the topics are generally interesting and the banter can be quite charming, but that's not enough for me personally to continue to listen.
Unfortunately their voices make them unbearably irritating to me. I have to play at a 0.8 speed to minimise their soaring whines.
I love that they cover such a wide range of topics and do so in an interesting and engaging way. Always worth a listen.
In high school, I used to have disagreements with my roommate about her obsession with a K-pop singer(I just didn't get it). I understand the obsession now. Whenever a new episode comes up, I have to listen to it. I've probably listened to each episode multiple times.
Always a lively source of conversation about topics you didn't know you wanted to hear discussed. While it's not quite the same without Michael, it's still smart, quirky, and fun.
Informative and funny. So we'll researched!!!
Started listening after seeing a tweet about their Princess Diana series, and have binged loads of episodes since. LOVE this podcast, Mike and Sarah are really funny and never fail to blow my tiny mind with the information they put forward that makes me consider the historical events I 'thought' I knew.
One of the best podcasts out there, funny informative and corrects the things we have been told throughout history. All episodes are well researched, respectful and factual
